May 15th, 2009 — Events

The Nokia N97 is no big secret. With prototype units already circulated in plenty of places worldwide, and feature/specification list that’s been known since late last year, the only question was when this phone would actually be launched.
If what dropped into my mailbox (see above) is anything to go by, the first week of June sounds about right, smack inside the claims by top Nokia execs that the N97 would arrive sometime in the first half of 2009. While this looks to be the launch date in the region, i’m not too sure if the same date applies to the rest of the world. Still, that’s something to look out for in the coming week or two.
October 10th, 2008 — Events

So, everybody and their dog have started receiving invites to an upcoming Apple event; October 14th, San Francisco. No prizes for guessing what it’s about. As usual, the launches in this part of the world will be a couple of days later, meaning everyone everywhere else will already have had a go at Apple’s latest way before we do.
Bah, humbug.

The T-Mobile G1
Yes you heard that right, the first Google phone is out and its in the form of the T-Mobile G1 or what for us over here in Asia will come to know as the HTC Dream. Unfortunately we won’t be seeing the unit in our shores anytime soon as shipping for units in the US only starts on 22 October. However don’t get depressed considering it IS a HTC made phone it will reach our shores eventually.
