Inside and All Around

Next to the power button are some status LEDs, as well as a pair of buttons for toggling Wi-Fi (left) and Lenovo’s OneKey Recovery (right) function. I do have to point out that while the latter function can come in handy, there are limitations, such as the fact that resizing your main C: partition will prevent OneKey Recovery from working. With external storage solutions being ultra-cheap these days (i.e. 1TB external hard disk drives going for around S$200 or less), it’s so much simpler just to copy and make a backup of everything, especially if its on the Lenovo S10 and it’s relatively puny 160GB hard disk drive.

Right side now; ExpressCard /34 slot (not many netbooks come with this particular slot; good thinking by Lenovo here), microphone and headphone jacks, single USB 2.0 port as well as the RJ-45 LAN connector. No Gigabit Ethernet on this baby though, all you get is 10/100 Ethernet. On the far end, right at the LCD hinge, you can also see the slot where you can hook up a Kensington lock for a modicum of security.

Up front are the status LEDs, as well as a perforated grille with the speakers hiding behind. This is a particularly nice touch in terms of design, which certainly sets it apart from most of the other netbooks available today.

Left side; the exhaust vent so that your netbook won’t cook in its own heat, the power jack, a VGA output jack (great for the traveling businessman looking to make their pitches while out of the office), the 4-in-1 card reader slot (supports SD/MMC/MS and MS Pro formats, SDHC included), as well as the only other USB 2.0 port on the netbook. Having just two USB 2.0 ports might crimp your style somewhat, especially if you’re a USB device fiend, but packing a small USB hub should take care of that issue without much fuss, weight or bulk added to your stash of traveling tech gear.

Hi, how much did you get it for and may I know what is the spec?
I wish to get one. Btw, that really look like Asus Eepc
Please email me at lisa@chewak.com.
You should be able to get it from Low Yat Plaza, or most any other authorized Lenovo reseller. As for how much, the price should be RM1700 or thereabouts.
