iPhone hitting Malaysia?

Seems the rumour mill in Malaysia has been churning a lot when it comes to the iPhone. I had it from a friend who says his source is really reliable that a certain green telco in Malaysia would be bringing in the iPhone to Malaysia and exclusively only to them.

That’s not all I heard it seems they have already come up with a general price to push the iPhone out. According to my source the price would be around RM200 – 250 per month for around 24 months and this would also come packaged with unlimited data.

Now as much as I’d like to believe the rumour mill, I’d reserve my judgement on the price as of yet because one if the price does end up being around RM250 a month for 24 months, this would give the iPhone a cost of around RM3,600 to the user which is really really expensive.

Considering the current economical climate, I wonder if pushing the iPhone at that price is going to be a good idea. As popular as the iPhone is now among the general public, some people might think twice before signing up. However that is all speculation now and this might just be the news that would make any Apple fans day in Malaysia. So stay tuned for more on this in weeks to come.

HTC Dream not coming to Malaysia??

dreamI’ve gotten some pretty interesting news from the grapevine recently regarding the HTC Dream. It seems that HTC might not be bringing the Dream into the Malaysian market at all and might instead opt to bring in the upcoming G2 instead. One reason I heard was that due to various issues the HTC Dream or rathe the T1 Mobile G1 had, it would be more feasible to bring in the better designed and built G2. As much as I’d appreciate a better working and less buggy device, this also means the possiblity of an Android phone hitting Malaysia very much later.

Considering that the other Android device by Kogan, the Angora, is most likely not coming here and other Android devices still in the works, I’m expecting Android to hit Malaysian shores only sometime in the 3rd quarter of this year. So for those waiting to have a go at Android you might have to wait a little bit longer.

First PICO projector hits Malaysia

More specifically Aiptek is the first company to bring in the Pico projectors into Malaysia and at a pretty good price to. Around the size of a handphone, you’d be expecting the Aiptek PocketCinema V10 to be really expensive but at RM1,799 (around USD508) its actually really affordable.

It runs on 1700mAH battery and even comes with 1GB of its own memory, expandable to up to 8GBs. It can also project up to 50″ though from what I’ve read 42″ projector would be the optimal size. Considering that most projectors, even the small form factor ones are still really bulky and unwieldly, there could be a huge uptake of this device here especially among people in the sales line.

I wouldn’t mind one after all, what better way to carry around and show of your collection of porn to the masses.
